Out and about at Ridley Sawmill.

First of all thank you to everyone who came and said hello at the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show.

As you may have seen/ heard or been told we are upgrading our main band saw, it's an extremely slow process and is likely to take another 2-3 weeks to finish.  We are still able to cut most things but may be a bit slower than normal. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding whilst this work is being carried out.

Potatoes are once again in stock - £7.50 per bag!!

Now autumn is upon us and with night time temperatures dropping you may be thinking about lighting that fire??  Logs are available from the yard during normal opening hours, please phone and check availability before travelling.

Bags - £4
Crates COLLECTED - £65
Kindling - £7

Next thing on the list will be Christmas trees which are nicely taking shape !!

From Ansty to Glastonbury Festival 2015

Many of you will already know that we were asked if we could supply slabbing/firewood to Glastonbury Festival 2015 and of course we said YES !! (be stupid not too!!)

After several phone calls and three lorry loads later we had supplied 84 bundles of slabbing/firewood.

This last one is from a friend who attended the festival and spotted some of our wood whilst setting up and kindly took a photo.  Thanks Daisy.

A day out at Yandles Woodworking Show.

So Chris and I decided to go for a trip out to Yandles Woodworking Show in Martock on Saturday.  The wood turning demonstrations were first class and a joy to watch and the assortment of wood available was some what exhausting to look at.  We both managed to come away with only one purchase each which was pretty amazing BUT I might have to investigate online the nice double ended wood turning chisels that were on display and being used.

Feedback.

Everyone likes to receive nice emails, even more so when we get to see where and what the wood is used for.

Hi The Ridley Family,

You remember that green oak you kindly cut for us, well here are some images of the finished item!!

Thank you and use the images as you wish.

Regards

Alan.
